Conservation & Stewardship

Brown Faces Green Spaces is committed to inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards. Our urban conservation programs are designed to engage children and teens in hands-on learning experiences that teach them about the importance of protecting our planet.  Introducing children to the wonders of nature from an early age helps them learn about the environment, develop new skills, and build lasting friendships with other young nature enthusiasts.

Public greenspaces enable residents to enjoy the outdoors where they live, work, and play. They also help create more sustainable neighborhoods whilst preserving the character of the community. Helping to steward our local greenspaces builds an awareness of habitat conservation and restoration actions that residents can explore  and appreciate every day!

Cultivating an interest in environmental stewardship early in a child’s life results in more environmentally conscious adults.  Greenspace stewardship such as removing invasive brush and plants, picking up trash, and planting new trees, helps us keep our parks and natural spaces healthy and thriving for many generations to come.
