5th Annual Earth Day Kickoff
 

 

Planet Palooza: Celebrating Earth, Health & Mental Wellness: 
a day to celebrate the planet, practice self-care & mental wellness, and learn about the environmental initiatives taking place in Gary and around Northwest Indiana.
 

Sharing an afternoon of family-friendly activities at Marquette Park in Gary -- included classics like double dutch, jacks, and hopscotch – as well as a simple session of forest bathing, a birding hike to learn about the many bird species that live within the beautiful, urban duneland habitat along the Chanute Trail, and a meaningful dialogue centered around nature, connectedness, and belonging – followed by a nature wellness meditation.  Participants also enjoyed arts & crafts and education stations with our many guest partners to learn about our local environmental initiatives -- at this annual family-friendly celebration of the planet and our wellness.
